I think he will do better on his own then he could do on Americon Idol. Josiah seems like a free spirit and probably wouldn't be happy in a contract with others calling the shots.
And all of the people whining about Josiah asking the band to leave can stop. He was very politte about it and didn't want to do it. He worked for hours with the band and he was obviously very frustrated that it wasn't working out. As an artist he wanted to do something original. So he kindly asked them to let him perform solo and gave an original interperatation. I do not see anything overconfident or arrogant about that.
Idols loss is Josiahs gain!
